Osama is dead!

Hey guys!

A momentous victory has just embraced us. Osama Bin Ladin, the leader of the Al-Qaeda, is dead. He was reportedly shot dead in an operation in Pakistan.

President Obama has already addressed the nation and the world and said and I quote that "Justice has been done"

I do feel that we need to commend all the soldiers and operations team that have helped to capture and kill one of the most feared and influential terrorist. To those that have lost a loved one through the Bali bombings and 911 attacks, my condolences goes to you and I share in your relief that justice has been done.

President Obama has said clearly that this is not a war against Muslims, but a war against a serial terrorist killer.

I do feel we need to pray even more now that people do not misunderstand this as a war against Muslims , but rather, a victory over terrorism and that there will not be any repercussions or repeat of these terrorist networks.

Hey guys!

Recorded a song for the People's Association competition! Thanks to Kayan and Ka yoke for their help!, and also thanks to God for giving me the inspiration and ability to write this song in 1 day! We had an extremely fun jamming session on Saturday and I really look forward for more!!! you guys are pro man! thanks for hurting your fingers for his song! btw Kayan's really good at the keyboard as well! hidden talent sia.... and she can rap!, Kah Yoke on the other hand.....can play BASS! and her guitar strumming patterns for this song are really really good !!! Basketball

YOZ!

I'm very happy today, you know why????? Because today Alex smsed us and asked the cell if we wanna play basketball today at Katib. At first I thought, oh man so far!, but after a little consideration and of course with my plan to get closer to the cell group, I decided to just go for it lah...

Turns out there's so many people that went! we could play like 5v4, played 3 games lost 2 haha, I seemed to be always paired with my cell leader Gershon, dont know why. Anyway, although we lost 2 games, it was very fun! Firstly because its a super long time since I played basketball with friends. I really missed the feeling. There was alot of laughter and "proness" on display haha!

I realized there's some very funny people in my cell. I dont know why when I see them I just feel like smiling inside myself haha, they seem to have that very happy feeling. Yeap, and I must say through this I've gotten to know them better. There was also this girl who came, and she was an ex bballer, and my gosh she scored many 3 pters! I was simply amazed because she had sort of a small frame.

Yuxin also brought her 2 friends along, and they were pro man! just that I think they just met us so they only showed us glimpses of their proness haha! maybe there's more to come! they could do stunts like bringing the ball one round around your back and stuff. So cool man! and they are girls!

First time in a long time I perspire so much, and its also the first time I play basketball with majority girls and yet its still quite active and challenging! haha no hidden meaning ok. Those girls playing today were simply AWESOME!

I MISS BASKETBALL! but the good thing is next week they will be playing again!!! WOOHOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Dropping of Honours

I have finally decided to drop my honours....

Hence from today onwards...I'm going to start pursuing my new year dreams and concentrate fully on it!

No 1 objective to be closer connected to God and really FOCUS on Bible sch and make sure I gain as much as I can from it.

2nd aim is to get into the JET programme , and everyday pray for it..

Then is my exercise objectives of 65kg

And time to make over myself and start putting my skin centre medication as well, as there will never be a time I feel like doing it so I have to make myself FEEL like doing it! and of course my BLOG, which will be up BY THIS WEEK CONFIRM!

Heyz!!!

I'm now awaiting my Japanese class, before that I am here to blog a little haha. In school now, seeing NUS as busy as it is, nearly all the coms in the central library are fully booked!

Anyway, other stuff the lecturer said that made me laugh was he said that the course benefit you in that you could impress people

For example, if you ordered fish in a restaurant, normally the response from people would be "Fish , Fish!" , and some people may have the knowledge to say "This fish is from the sea!"

BUT you can point it out and say "This is a female fish!" And everybody will start looking at you in amazement, "why is that?"

Because this type of fish, the grouper, starts off as a female fish, only when it grows to a certain size, which is quite large, does it mature into a male, hence, the fish you see now on your table is a female fish!

I must admit, its really quite impressive !

Anyway , yesterday we celebrated Sebrina and Cheryl's birthday!, it was fun hanging out with the old cell group again. Its good to know everybody's doing well. Once again Ben reminded me to start my website soon...well IT IS COMING SOON!!! just that these few days its really quite busy with IRO and School stuff, and today I'm gonna be giving tuition! first time in a long time...the previous experience was quite bad as I was inexperienced and the kids were quite difficult to handle, hence they ran all over me! , well at least now I'm teaching primary 3 , so it should be better right? haha , anyway hope all goes well and hope I can make a good impression in front of student's parents!

Yesterday I went to crash this lecture, SSD1207 , Natural Heritage of Singapore.

Its a pity I cant take this module as it does not fit my timetable , nonetheless, I had a good laugh during the lecture as the lecturer was qute funny, in a serious kinda way..... here's some of the stuff he said...

If you take this module, firstly, it will teach you how to survive~~, so that if an emergency ever happens to Singapore, you know what can be eaten and what cannot, like the squids, crabs and fishes...

After that he showed us a picture of a crab, and asked how many people have eaten that kind of crab before. After that he said after eating this crab, it will taste like, once in a lifetime crab..... after thinking for a while I realized the crab was poisonous , that is why...

Another thing he said was in the past, Elephants used to swim across from Johor to Pulau Ubin! and that some Singaporeans got really excited and went across to see these wild elephants, but in the end the elephants started chasing them, and they never knew they could run so fast!

Haha ok got to go eat lunch, will write part 2 later!

School Starts 2010

Next week is the brand new beginning of my school term!

I'm excited, having not been to school for a very long time, almost 7 months, because last year I took a leave of absence, and my semester ended at around May. So this year, is a brand new beginning for me. As you know I'm not doing honours so these are the modules I may be taking 90% confirmed.

1) The most anticipated module I have been waiting to take. Japanese level 1! , this is to fulfill my goal of being able to speak fluent Japanese by the end of the year. I hope I can meet really good friends in this module! And I'm really looking forward to learning it!

2) Food in Japan!, this is a new module that just came out!, I decided to take it as it wasn't a very hard decision to make! haha, some of the concepts explored include the Japanese green tea ceremony, ramen! , beef and its significance?, haha it just makes my mouth drool, and I think its pretty cool to learn about the social aspects of Japanese food! especially sushi! Nihon Mura buffets will never be the same again!

Speaking of which, take a look at this receipt they printed out for a buffet I had some time ago! The longest receipt I have seen!

3) I'm still considering but the 3rd and final module ( how slack I am ) I will be taking will be a close over between brief history of science, natural heritage of Singapore, and cross cultural communication and discourse. Depending on the bid points for each of these, because it got kinda crazy recently...

Yeap! that's all , 3 modules, including Bible sch which will start in March, and my IRO part time job ! and my tuition of course! all this has managed to make my schedule quite packed already.. well, it beats having nothing to do.. now I have something to work towards!

So all the students out there, GAMBATE!

By the way, I think I'll start doing the one photo to represent each day montage, I'll probably post it once a week!, just to see how interesting my 2010 will be! I've also decided to dedicate a wall to paste all the movie studs that I will be watching in 2010~!, so far there's only 2, but more will be coming soon! wahaha!

1st Testimony of the year!

I did my calculations, and found out if I dont overspend , I can actually fulfill the cost of Bible school!

I have already done my budget for 2010 and its looking good! Anyway I have learnt how to sense what God is telling me more now.

I was wondering how I could get funding, and there was that sense of prompting to relook an sms that Bryan sent me regarding his tuition agency. I signed up for it and in less than a week I managed to get a tuition assignment!!! it fits my criteria perfectly ! , in the west, teaching Pri 3 english and maths!

And while working for the IRO today, my superior told me she had a friend who went on the JET programme before, and was willing to help me find out what exactly are the people that JET are looking for! Praise God!!!!

Therefore my first testimony of the year, a new tuition assignment!, which helps me save up for Bible school! Many thanks to God and to Bryan!

Meanwhile, Singapore lost 3-1 to Iran

And I'll be starting my website about Japanese Rock soon! to give you a preview, here's a really cool song, its one of the themes from Gundam Seed Destiny, and its sang by High and Mighty Colour, which is a really good band with great harmony among the various musical players and the lead singer. New Year Resolutions

YES, Happy new year to all

Its time for me to write my new year resolutions.

Having thought long and hard...I have decided, not to continue my honours. That is the first thing. I really cant motivate myself to learn the Vietnamese language anymore. I would say its not really my cup of tea. Its time to move on, old things have passed away, and its time to look to the future and not dwell on this honours dilema which has been bugging me for so long.

I also couldn't see myself handling both Bible sch and Honours, taking into account the exams, tests and assignments, realistically speaking. I may tell myself I can do it now. But the previous semesters has shown that it really has to take interest and willingness in order to succeed in continuing my studies. Another issue has been that I have only scored good grades for modules that are sort of "fun" in nature, dont have much readings, and deal more with music!

Which brings me to my next point, which is I think my passion in life is not politics or having a government job, rather , its music! And this will be the focus of my 2010.

Another main focus will be Japanese!, I decided, since I'm left with 2 modules, I might as well make the most of it and take up another language. Now this is out of my own interest, and not because of a girl ( in the case of Vietnamese ) oopz! which was a long time ago actually. I shall gambatte!!! because there's this programme I'm really quite keen on, called JET, or Japan Exchange Teaching. Where we can get sent to Japan as assistant language teachers, or International relations coordinators for a period of 1 year, with the option of extending to 5 years. This shall be my aim for 2010.

Hence my 2 main goals for 2010 is : Start polishing up my music skills (guitar)
and be fluent in conversational Japanese by year end. Of course there is also Bible school, which I plan to embark on.

Now for the breakdown of Top 20 GOALS OF 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Financial Goals and Action Plan
1) Set up my website and make sure it is successful!, YES I'm going to set up a website that I am passionate about and can see myself updating it. Its going to be called Japanrocks.org , although I have to pay $14 for the name (why Ben? why is it not free? ) It will focus on Japanese Pop Culture, in particular the Rock and Hip Hop music scene, so stayed tuned for it!

2) I will find WORK and make sure I can fully fund Bible school by myself. I am currently working for IRO ( International Relations Office ) in NUS and am hoping to get another post as a clinic assistant at night, I pray to God I can get it... for those who are Christians, I would really thank you and appreciate if you could help me pray that I can get this job as well! Many thanks!

3) I will manage my finances PROPERLY, and try to not have $2 left in my bank account every month. This includes having a detailed budget outline for each month and making sure I stick to it! I plan to be able to fulfill my Bible Sch costs, as well as save up at least $1000 by the end of the year. AT LEAST is the word haha!

4)OF course, I will be updating and making sure I update this website at least ONCE a WEEK. Yes, I plan to make this website a hit as well. My goal will be to try and hit a constant 30 visitors per day by the end of the year! People, if you like what you are reading, do recommend this blog to your friends!, and I'm very sorry for all the empty promises I made in the past.

FITNESS GOALS
1) 65KG, I WILL HIT 65KG THIS YEAR I DONT CARE!!!!! I'M FED UP WITH ALWAYS SETTING THIS MARK BUT ONLY hitting it half way and then gaining back everything. From today onwards, I will make sure I put in utmost effect to hit it!

2) Apply skin centre medication religiously! Although I spent $80 on the medication, I'm ashamed to say I dont really put it every night and day. 2010 WILL BE MY BREAKTHROUGH YEAR!!!!

3) Bonus will be 6 pac of course...but its not the priority

In June, I want to be at least 68KG, and have a somewhat clear complexion.

New Personal Goals

1) Be fluent in conversational Japanese by the end of the year ( gonna need your help Ezekiel, Jiaxiang, Yvonne, Lindy! )

2) Learn Guitar until I'm at an advanced level, know chord progression, and how to play guitar solos, and aspects of guitar keys. Also learn some basic music theory. Because I want to be the ultimate guitar hero!!! hahaha, I also want to learn some aspects of song recording. I want to take my composing to another level instead of just using the basic chords. There's this competition in January , please pray for me that I can at least reach the finals! , which can provide me another source of income as well. ( gonna need your help Andy! ) Maybe I can include posting some videos of Band Hero here! hahahaha because its really similar to playing drums haha.

3) Finish Bible sch and make sure I make full use of each and every lesson so that I can benefit and become a more spiritually filled person!! and not just go through it for the sake of going through it. Of course to grow closer to God in the process as well!

4) If I managed to get a job, then I can include dancing as well! If I have time as well.

5) Grow closer to my cell group~~~ its sort of a new change for me, still coming to grip with it, but I will gambatte! we must accept change in order to move from grace to grace!

And also to be more sociable , think more positively , spend more time with God, spend more time with my family, and work hard at my dreams!!!!!!!!!!

Happy New Year and Merry Christmas to all!

Hope you had lots of feasting and presents and blessings!

For me, it was a little bit tough as I've just been allocated a new cell group. And most of the celebrations are together with my new cell. I'm not really close to them yet, and I sometimes wish I was celebrating with my other cell group. I mean its a different feeling to be celebrating with new friends, and with people you already know for very long. I'm trying my best to overcome this..... as I'm not a very talkative nor "I" person. I keep more to myself and I think my strenght lies in ideas and thoughts rather than expressions. Maybe you could classify me as a poet. Haha o well anyway....if any of you are reading this...I ask for your humble guidance that I can blend into the cell soon...

Anyway I wanted to do a little review of what my resolutions were in 2009, and its quite dishearting how the year turned out to be...from what I expected...

This is what I blogged in January 2009
1) I will reply SMS ASAP and answer my phone, or return missed calls.

- Ok I think I improved in this area towards the end of the year, but still, sometimes I REALLY dont know that my phone is ringing, regardless of what phone I use, must be my baggy pants. I'm deeply sorry for all the trouble I've caused by still not replying and answering but next year I will be more responsive!

2) I will learn to speak louder and with more confidence, looking at the person I talk to as a sign of respect

- Again this is still not improved. And I think it will be my resolution again for 2010. Sometimes I just sink into ultimate "dont feel like talking mood" And my voice is still rather soft. O well, there's still next year...

3) I must lose weight and be 63kg

- This is a grand failure. The lowest I went was 68kg, then I went to Taiwan, ate like crazy (but its worth it ) and never been able to reduce it since, I went up to 76KG and now am 74KG, o man o man!!! next year!

4) I must get at least SILVER for IPPT

- Another epic failure, I failed and went for RT, but RT was quite fun as it was free training and they pay you $10 per session! I'll go RT again next year..

5) Be on the DEAN'S List for this upcoming semester

- My first semester I wasn't on the dean's list but I must say I did improve, I had one A+ A- B B C(S) C(S) the S means I optioned to Pass/Fail it so it dosen matter. I got my 2nd A+ also! haha. My 2nd sem was horrible, if you all know what happened...

6) Be more sociable and take the effort to go out with friends as to make an effort to maintain friendships

- Ok for W133 this was quite a good achievement. New cell I'm still trying to blend in. Ya, other friends some bad things happened but we managed to patch up so I think this goal is more or less achieved! Yippee! But next year I must widen my social circle! 1 out of 6 achieved so far....

7) Maintain punctuality

- Again another epic failure, sometimes I do come early, but its mostly b'coz I had other plans before that and hence came super early. I'm also ashamed to say sometimes I've been 1 hour late... and just recently, 1 1/2 hours late! O man Apologize again....

8) Have regular prayer conferences, participate in prayer meetings

Not really so for prayer conferences, but prayer meetings I have been quite active! So I think I'm give myself a pass for this! 2 out of 8 goals Achieved!

9) Start on Bible Study

- This is also a pass! I have more or less finished Victorious Living and have more or less been attending Bible study! 3 out of 9 goals Achieved!

10) Pray everyday

- I didn't really pray everyday, it was more like when I feel like it, or when there's daily prayer meeting. Next year next year!

11) Move myself to be able to participate in ministry

- Ad Hoc ministries only, I did join POS and helped out in Blood donation and some other things. But I've yet to find a full time ministry, which I'm considering Children's Church actually. This will be fulfilled next year in Bible School!

12) EMERGE conference Top 3 in 10km Marathon

- Voided, there's no EMERGE competition this year haha! maybe I'll try to aim for something in ASIA Conference next year!

13) Bowling : adverage 150 , and defeat my long time rival Terry

- I didn't really bowl much this year. But I did defeat Terry hahaha! but I scored a 0 once, it was an extremely low point of my bowling career. O well. I dont think I'll be bowling much next year as well. I think I can void this

14) Basketball: Defeat my long time rival Ji en

- Again didn't really play much basketball. In fact I think I didn't play with Ji En at all for this year!, but I'm slowly picking up on this... waiting for him to be free, which either it rains or me or him has something on!!!

15) FINISH the Bible

- I didn't even finish one book sadly.... next year!

16) Update my blog regularly

- You all can judge this for yourselves haha

17) Be more understanding and spend more time with my family

- I would say this is achieved, I did go out with them and we even had a family trip to Desaru ! 3 out of 17 goals achieved!

18) Maintain a neat and tidy room

- Nothing to say

19) Eat fruits everyday/ drink more water

- Again it only happened for a brief period, after that I just lost control....next year next year! this must CHANGE!!!!!!!!!! 8 glasses a day!

20) Maintain POSITIVE thinking and the COURAGE to win life's battles

- Finally, the last goal. I would say sometimes I did have positive thoughts but my negetive thoughts still outweigh my positive thoughts. I did complete POS, my first SEM, did a documentary, and performed in the Thai New Year Concert. Also got a job at the IRO part time and went to Taiwan for a model united nations were some of the positives.......the negetives......dropped out of honours (ultimate negetive), made a testimony I didn't fulfill... absented myself from cell and events for no reason. And some other things which I dont remember which is good!, yea

Thanks for reading, I have 3 out of 20 goals achieved. Next year my aim shall be at least 10 out of 20, and I will do those 20 goals soon~!

Master Plan

TO ALL MY DOUBTERS!

If you think I'm slacking, then you are soooooooooooooo wrong! because I'm still continuing my plan, its just that I haven't had much time to blog about it. Well personally, its already been 3 weeks since I started. So far I have lost 2 KG , the first week was pure running on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, each day was a 5km run and that reduced 1kg off my body.

The next week I didn't really run much, concentrated more on my eating habits, tried to eat lesser, and it reduced my weight by another 1 KG

So now I am officially 74KG.

My goal at the end of December is to be 70KG, that's 4 more KG, I BELIEVE I CAN DO IT! GAMBATTE

Master Plan

Today will be the start of my master plan!

What master plan you might ask. Well, its the plan I'm gonna try to achieve for the remainder of the year. Basically things took a turn for the worst and I ended up taking leave of absense from school, putting on alot of weight, and hitting an all time low in the confidence level. I even went to the skin and hair clinic to get problems settled involving my hair and complexion, which I think is deteriorating fast!!!, which is why every Monday or Tuesday will be Success Story Day! Where i will input my progress so far. For a full version of my diet each day and exercise, I created a new blog to input this @ www.successfoo.blogspot.com

I want to thank Ruth for helping me and believing in me and what I can do, she is my cell group leader and a very good and influencial leader in fact. There were times when I wanted to revolt against her because of some misunderstandings but it turns out those misunderstandings were from me! I did write in Birthday card that she will see a change in me ! And I plan to do it.

AND THIS WILL NOT BE EMPTY TALK, like the many times I empty talked in this blog. Yea, till then, CHEERS TO A FIT AND CONFIDENT DANIEL

Congrats to Liverpool on their brilliant display, if you haven't known yet, they beat Liverpool 2-0 thanks to goals from Ngog and Torress.

However, I feel that Manchester United were simply outplayed yesterday. Their midfield was bolstered by Lucas of all people, and Masch. And Rooney was totally absent. I didn't want Rooney to start actually, I think he is overrated. Would have preferred Owen! and was waiting for him to score an Anfield. But it was not to be. I thought SAF would sub out Rooney instead of Berbatov , as I thought Berbatov was performing well, much better than Rooney. Anyway I would prefer players with class over tenacity anytime. It makes me think that maybe SAF might be showing abit of favouritism towards Rooney sometimes, and does not want him to release a temper, which he will do, if hes subbed out, even if its for the better of the team. I know hes a fighter but sometimes tactics deem a change of style and he should be the one sacrificed.

Anyway, back to my title, its painful to watch soccer. Because Arsenal DRAWED with West Ham, when they were leading by 2 goals! and those 2 goals were rather soft and based on mistakes by the keeper. However, our keeper decided to make a mistake and then our DM decided to make a rash foul which resulted in a penalty. Its sad, at 2-0 up we were suppose to be cruising but alas, the players decided to switch off and relac one corner instead of killing the game off, which did result in this. Anyway Vito is a great keeper I must say just that he lacks experience, the players should know this and hence they should kill the game off so that his mistake wouldn't have made a difference.

Anyway I feel for Vito, for all critics out there, I must say its difficult to play as keeper, as I have experience, its easy to comment that O he should have palmed the ball the other way, but in the game atmosphere, sometimes you know you have to palm it out, but it requires a split second decision, and sometimes maybe you intended to palm it out but it went the other way as you misjudged the speed and power of the ball. So, its really the hardest position to be a goalkeeper, all keepers make mistakes, its just the fact that their mistakes result in goals which is why they get alot of heat sometimes. But I still think Vito can become a great keeper! Lets not forget how he performed against Fulham!

I rented this movie to watch as I was introduced to it by my Taiwanese friend. This movie is based upon the 1991 University of Iowa shootings. It is completely fictionous. Firstly I would like to say that I would recommend this movie, as it deals with the issue of depression and set backs, trials. It shows this up and coming and promising boy, who got accepted to the university, however, he came up with a theory about cosmology and dark matter that goes against his professor as it was deemed to be unfounded. Thus, he could not graduate and had to go into doing odd jobs that were a waste of his talent.

Hence, he got into depression and starting killing those around him. The movie really puts you through the character and makes you sort of understand what goes through the minds of the killer. If only there was a counsellor who could talk to him, things would have been different, or a professor who could believe in him, or guide him through other alternatives. This just goes to show that we should be on the lookout for people that need our support and care. And these incidents could be prevented. That was the first thought that came into my mind as I watched this film.

Another point is that he killed his fellow student, who managed to get a PhD with support from his professor. On his inauguration ceremony, he shot him. Which is really sad because all his hard work was vanished in an instant. It really makes you think how fragile life can be. They do tell about this female guide who does help the boy to adapt and follow through, and she was one of the few people who cared for him but it wasn't enough to help him through his depression.

After watching this film, I realized life in America can be quite dangerous as well. People could just take out a gun a kill you anytime. Which is why I am strongly against the sale of guns in America but that's another story.

The main point I want to get across to you is that, life is fragile. Treasure it, treasure those around you. And more importantly. Look out for the people around you, show an hand of care and concern for them. Help those around you who need help and the world can be a safer place to live. I just watched Oprah where the artist, Will I Am, used his funds to create a scholarship for youths in America to go to college. Which I feel is a very noble thing to do. No matter who you are, you can play a part!

If you think you have spare money, please do not hesitate to help those around you.

I know of this soccer player called Christiano Ronaldo, who bought 3 branded cars in England, and when he shifted to Spain, he thought it was troublesome to shift the cars to spain and just bought new ones.

What a waste of money I must say, money which could be used to help other people.

Job's Children's death explained

In the Bible, the story of Job mentions that God permitted Satan to unleash disaster upon disaster on his life, to test his faith and commitment.

The result was that Job 's sons and daughters died in a tragedy, however, Job continued to praise the Lord despite this, a true mark of a mature Christian. No matter the trials and setbacks, difficulties and mountains faced. Job believe in God, and had faith in God and knew this was a trial for him permitted and not created by God, to make him "come forth as GOLD" God is interested more in your character!

And everything He does is for a great purpose
And He loves each and everyone of us

Kaze brought up this interesting question. Why was it that God permitted Job's sons and daughters to be "attacked" by the devil in order so that Job can be a mature Christian. If may not seem fair to the their lives, in which why must they be sacrificed?

Well, if you look at it from another angle. Everything happens for God's purpose and plan for our lives. We indeed do not know what they of people Job's sons and daughters may be, they may be non Christians, or may have done something against the will of God, or maybe they did not fear God , and in old testament times , before the birth of Christ, who was to redeem us of our sins?, it is the offerings of sacrifices that the oldern people had to offer. They may not have offered these sacrifices or may have ended up worshiping other gods, just like when Moses brought the Israelites out of Egypt, they saw the miracle but were still unfaithful and fickle minded. Hence, that generation did not get to see the promise land.

Another reason could be they knew their calling and were willing to sacrifice their lives for God. Isn't that what Christianity is all about, even though death, we would die for Christ, for his purpose and will for our lives b'coz ultimately it was He that created us. And b'coz of this story, many people in our generations are saved or have been touched by the story of Job. Hence, their deaths ultimately had a purpose to it, 7 dead, but many generations of Christians saved.

It is similar to Jesus Christ. If you say that its unfair that those 7 children of Job were not given a chance, then what about Jesus Christ, the most righteous man of all, yet, to fulfill the will of God, he had to be crucified, at a young age of 33, isn't that totally unfair to him, BUT he knew his calling and b'coz of his death we are saved.

In truth, God did bless Job with better children, even though it does not sound ok to replace dead children with new ones, you got to look at the whole picture, and the blesseings of these new children that were more anointed. And of cause the role and impact those 7 children had. Or in turn, look at Paul, it is said and rumored that he was beheaded by the romans. What a cruel and unfair way to die, BUT he died believing in his purpose and the will God has for him, in return, they enjoy the joy of holding treasures in heaven for their faith.

Friends, its all about your level of FAITH and willingness to do the will of God, WHICH will always be for a great and mighty purpose for mankind and is centered around LOVE!

Stress, why do we feel it?

This past week has been very stressful for me. I admit that I once posted that I was going to do honours , looking forward to graduating with at least a 2nd lower honours degree. However, I do not know why but, everytime attempt to study or do an assignment, I just cant get the ideas out of mind, or the mental capacity to read up on the information needed for the assignment. How I could do it previously was because the lower level modules are qutie simple and understandable, where else now, at Level 4 , I'm looking really indept into scholarly views of certain topics, and am to make substantial arguments about these scholars. I need to read books are look totally dry. And the thing is, the subject is just not enticing.

Which is why my week has been horrible. I told myself I would study and would continue but I just cant. And hence I've made the decision to choose another path in life. I will get my BA degree yes, just without honours.

Which is why I would strongly advice any year 1's who are reading my blog to please look at the Level 4 modules on offer before you decide on your major, because it can have a deep impact on how your year 4 life will be. For me, my level 4 modules on offer were simply not my cup of tea.

I want to apologize to all the people who have kept faith in me. But, I think its really difficult for me to continue. Further more my CAP is quite low , which requires me to get an average of B+ for my remainding 10 modules, which is abit steep for me as firstly, they are of level 4 and demand alot.

I think I sound like a quitter, but I hope you understand what I'm going through. It has been a really bad experience. Which is why I would like to comment on society. Why does it seem that if you dont have an honours, its the end of the world?

Btw I would like to recommend my friend's blog to you all, its a rather nice light read if your interested, and she's a great friend as well.!

Watching Arsenal's match almost put me to sleep. It was only that 1 solidatory goal scored by Van Persie on a route 1 path to goal.

Other than that, I thought Mannoe, the 3rd choice goalkeeper performed really great! just got to know that he's Italian ! which kinda explains why he has that natural Italian aura that true great Italian Goalkeepers have! He was commanding in front of goal, punched out when needed, caught crosses when needed, and had some very good point blank saves that were not! I repeat not shot directly at him. Great agility there.

I think what Arsenal needs now is some flair and set up play that the manager needs to work on because our midfield looks terrible, the players are missing that telepathy that they used to have when Henry, Viera, Bergkamp were there. Maybe its because there's more races in the team now compared to a predominently French team in the past. Oh well.

I hope we can win the EPL this season. We just have to. Considering we didn't win either away or home to Fulham last season, this can be seen as a stark improvement. More training on passing needs to be done among the players, as well as a greater awareness of the availble options and route to goal. I think Wenger also needs to develop an impact sub that can really make a difference when other players are tired.

All in all, on the bright side, CHELSEA lost to WIGAN!! which adds some sparks to my day haha, now the EPL is just getting more exciting, with every team having already lost!

Vaccine for AIDS Found!

If you haven't already read the news, it has been reported that in Thailand, researches have come up with an AIDS vaccine. It is believed that this vaccine could reduce the risk of being infected with AIDS by a third.

Now what is undoubtly shocking to me, is not that this vaccine is found. But that it was reported that VOLUNTEERS were willing to test the vaccine, in which some were given it, and others were given a placebo and the results, according the channelnewsasia, is that

"Out of the placebo recipients, 74 of 8,198 became infected compared with 51 of 8,197 who got the vaccine."

Now, why was this "scientific experiment" allowed to happen?, AIDS is a permanent diesease that ultimately kills a person, and yet these people volunteered to test the vaccine by being test experiments?, this is just like signing your death warrent. I'm starting to have a hint of suspicion that these people did not realize what they are putting themselves up to and were not briefed properly.

How low can humanity go, for the sake of wanting to find a cure for AIDS, we are willing to sacrifice VOLUNTEERS?

Another issue is the vaccine. Now this may be a good thing , especially for children who are born with AIDS, in that now they can prevent themselves from getting a diesease that is beyond their control. HOWEVER, imagine the situation. Pre-marital sex will definetely shoot up because of this. And as this vaccine has only a 30% success rate, I believe there will be more than a 30% increase in pre-marital sex. Hence, there might be an even bigger spread of the VIRUS. Another thing is that I strongly believe the best cure for AIDS is just to stop having sex unless after marriage, and not to have multiple sex partners. How difficult is that? that is already the cure right in front of our eyes. If we can successfully destroy the SARS virus, I don't see why AIDS can be an issue as its spread only by sex or needles!

Today will be the day I start my work for my assignments/tests. Gosh, going to NUS during the holidays is really stressful, because I see so many people in school studying! and it really makes me feel ultra guilty.

Is not that I dont want to start, but I cant bring myself to start, and I get distracted really easily. From aimlessly looking at facebook to checking my mail to reading soccernet.com. Well today I finally took out my personal calender and found I only have so few days left to prepare!!! so I have have to start today. I'll start my assembling my notes for Cultural Diversity module. And then I'll study 1 or 2 chapters of Theory and Practice in SEA. Hope all goes well!

By the way, I found this really smooth radio channel, its from Taiwan and its called Hit Fm, its a mixture of english and Chinese songs, and the songs they play are really suitable for studying I find. Not to loud and no to slow. Its the nice R and B smooth feel. And the DJs are really cool as well! I highly recommend this radio station for those studying ! or just feel like having smooth listening. Its called hitfm,

最经我有一点被惊讶。。。

为什么呢？，　是应为昨天我妈妈从郵箱拿了个广告信给我。。而且那个广告是关于台湾度假！．．看了之后我有一点相恋我在台湾参加个會議的时候。。而且可能那个信是个上帝给我的表示或暗示我的未来会在台湾？？，　哈哈。　我开是想是不是上帝要我停止我的學科去台湾，　而当促使再考录我会不会一直听他的话，，可是我想一想。。那个肯定是我自己的想法。。哈哈。。。

Project 6 Pac and The Time Traveller's Wife review

Apart from my honours track records that I'll be documenting down, I would also like to draw emphasis on a new project I have been embarking on for the past 2 years, but now am beginning to take it seriously

That is project 6 pac. Although it may sound surreal, but I have so far been running 2.4km everyday for the past 4 days. However, I still find myself eating rather alot. Think I should cut down on my daily intake of food, which can go up to 4 meals a day! and lots and lots of Packet drinks, which contains alot of sugar which isn't good for my health as well.

What I've been trying to start is the habbit of drinking plain water, as I believe this will greatly decrease my sugar intake levels. Another key aspect is I'm trying to get as much sleep as possible at night, as it is said that your body heals itself more quickly at night, hence which could lead to a more healtier scalp and complexion as well!, as more as more energy during the day for my runs!

Anyway so far I've had a great weekend and Hari Raya Holiday, spent quite alot of time with my cell group and Church mates, think the're a really fun bunch of people to hang out with and a good form of social support whenever I have troubles or just feel like talking to someone. Big thanks especially to Ruth, Sandra, Elizabeth,Eunice, Ya Lan, Sebrina and also Helena for helping me go through a difficult period that I once had the past week with regards to my honours year. Would also like to thank Terry for not giving up on me and motivating me constantly about work and health.

Anyway I watched the Time Travellors wife yesterday, I must say its quite a good show, not that fantastic but the idea is very original, about the wife of a guy who constantly "time-travels" and is beyond his control. He could be with her one day and dissappear at any moment, and come back at another moment. What really struck me the most was that he could appear in front of his wife when she was still a child as well, which deepens our understanding of this beautiful relationship. I would recommend this show for people who like to see fresh ideas presented on film that draws away from conventional love stories and such, this film is somewhere along the lines of the Lakehouse.

Manchester United 4 - 3 Manchester City

What an exhilarating game! This must be the reason why we watch football, and why we simply cant get enough of it! Even though he brings us heartaches sometimes and sleepless nights. Football is truly a theatre , a theatre of dreams , the best reality show there is.

This game was played at breath taking speed from start to finish. Tevas, returning to his old club, was wanting to make a name for himself in City's folklore. All the pre match talk about having his poster at the entrance of Manchester, and Sir Alex branding City as a "cocky team" was boiled down to the excitement on the pitch, and it wasn't dissappointing as right from the start Rooney scored from an argument between Toure and Richards.

After that Teves did what he does best, he did not give up on the loose ball, forcing Foster to make a mistake and giving Barry the chance to have the coolest of finishes!

Man U then scored another through Fletcher , followed by a GEM of a goal by Bellamy and then there was another goal by Fletcher, another equalizer by Bellamy and finally right at the death, a goal by Michael Owen to cap a fabulous match.

This derby was simply awesome from start to finish, many controvesies , including the injury time extension, which allowed Owen to score. My personal opinion was that it was fairely given because of Bellamy's celebration as well as SAF's substitution.

On the pitch today we saw hard work, determination, as well as the human spirit. Overall I think Manchester United deserves to win as this has got to be the best Manchester Derby ever. As the commentator said, if Michael Owen dose not do anything else in Manchester, he surely will be remembered for this goal late into injury time to seal a glorious victory!

Blog Revival

I have finally decided that from today onwards, on September the 15th 2009, I'm going to be updating my blog on a more regular basis. And, I have also finally decided, that for the next year until May, this blog is going to be primarily about my future success story. Yes, I'm currently doing my final year in Southeast Asia Studies, its the final lap, the last of my studies.

Recently I've been feeling rather down, I kept thinking to myself, should I really continue with this honours project. The books seem overwhelming, the seminar style classes seem intimidating, and I was honestly wondering if I should continue or just drop it now.

This module called SE Theory and practice required each of us to present on a book of our choice based on the 14 most influencial books on Southeast Asia. However, each time I found a book I would get put off by it, either by its sheer thickness or my lack of understanding of what I was reading. For 2 days this happened. I would be so fired up to go to school to continue studying, only to find the book and go back dissappointed and wanting to quit again! Another module that has heavily giving me problems was Politics and Business in Southeast Asia, which I felt I totally did not understand anything that the lecturer was saying. Further more the class was small and for 2 consecutive lectures the lecturer asked me to answer her question as I was rather quiet in class. And I gave a really common sensical answer as you know.

One of the question was do you think the Indonesian economy could survive in the long run having taken over from the colonial masters. And all I could reply was every economy has its ups and downs. Oh man!

Where was the turning point in all of this you may ask. Well, without a doubt, I believe its from God. And I strongly believe that he does have a plan for my life. Everywhere I went or whatever I did there were little reminders of the word "Honours" to prompt me. While singing a praise song in Church there was the word Honour, when I opened the Bible I saw the word Honour, and even when I watched "Marley and Me", the character said that he surprised himself that he graduated with Honours. The real truth came during a cell group session. Ruth asked if anybody needed prayer to raise up their hands. I was very hesitant at first as I didn't want her to mention anything about continuing with studies. However, I decided to trust in the Lord and put my faith in what he wants me to do. Hence I raised by hands and as you know it, Ruth did pray about not giving up, about how God will not put you in situations that you cannot handle, and how through faith, we can do all thigns through Christ who strenghtens us, as said in the Bible.

The next day I had a field trip that I was rather reluctant to go as I was still deciding if I should continue with my honours. However, by some mysterious force, I managed to wake up on time, was still contemplating or trying to fall into deep sleep again so I would miss the time, but amazingly, I couldn't and hence I decided to go on the trip. I kept having dreams in my head about how I would be ostracized during the trip and so on but amazingly that was far from the reality, I managed to make some new friends and overall the trip was rather interesting! I couldn't stop thinking about the cultural elements that the lecturer mentioned and even retold what he told us to some of my cell group members.

Well, here I am now, not so much in complete faith, but of some faith to believe that I can go on with honours, but I think i'll need alot alot more support and encouragement to believe that I can actually do it. I know God knows I can do it and that is why I think I must encourage myself more and more each day to believe it and to act upon it. Fears of flopping, messing up presentations and doing badly have to be thrown out the window. Its time to get serious!

More updates about my honours year will come, including of coz my grandmaster plan to be fit and lean. Which unfortunetely I have been failing to keep up with as well. However, tomorrow is a brand new day! WORK TOWARDS THE VISION WE SHALL!!!

This is one of the motivational songs that have inspired me to continue. Yeah, I'll be waiting for the moment of graduation. I cannot wait for that moment, but I'll have to work extremely hard for it. Till then.... I hope that one day I can post my graduation with honours photo on this blog...WATCH THIS SPACE

Ban Qing Ge

Music and songs has been with us for generations. This melodic entity is truly mesmerizing and sometimes words cannot express the nostalgia and emotions that come along with songs.

I'm sure many of you have some songs that are special to you, evoking memories and a deep feeling that is unique to each of you as you listen to that special song that has played a part in your life. These feelings could be sweet remembrance of times spent in the past, or simply a magical moment.

Why do I choose to blog about this today. Simple because I was surfing youtube today, and stumbled upon a song which　I used to hear many times when I was on exchange in Vietnam. In particular I was watching this Taiwanese drama called Fated to Love You, ( A great drama which I highly recommend ) , and at that time it was just a song I used to play in my room. Ok of course another reason why I watched it again was because I knew a Taiwanese in Vietnam at that time. So that song became associated with a remembrance of the time spent with her in Vietnam.

Fast forward 6 months later, and I just stumbled upon the song again. And I was deeply touched by it. Because just by listening, I can sense the atmosphere of the past all over again, from how my room used to be, to the surroundings of Hanoi, to the nostalgia of Sapa. All these things, could be reinforced again when I heard the song. Magical as it may seem, I really thank God for creating something as diverse and as unique as music, that from one sense of hearing, could ignite 4 other sense as well.

One example is of course Michael Jackson, whom just passed away, and what was remembered of him was not his problems but his music, which is celebrated around the world at his passing, of how his music generated a certain culture, and nostalgia of the past as well.

Threads of Destiny ( Akai Ito )

Threads of Destiny – This is a story about destiny between lovers. According to certain beliefs, it is said that when a thread is tied between 2 people, they are destined to be together, even if their love has failed the first time and no matter what the trials, which speaks of perseverance and fate if you truly believe in it and work towards it. This movie tells the story of a young man Akkun, who met a girl called Mai in school. Upon asking for her birthday, he realized that she was the girl whom he bumped into at a cake shop, who showed an act of kindness by offering him a chocolate to wish him happy birthday as he was unsure if his birthday was going to be celebrated or not, it was then that a thread was being tied between the two of them.

The movie speaks of many key values of relationships, such as the importance of knowing that love cannot be forced, not going after your friend’s girlfriend, and of course other important elements of friendship like not lying, being there for a friend when in need, praising others and not condemning and fulfilling promises, which all illustrates how to love people around you to build long and stable relationships, between friends, lovers as well as families. One of the phrases I really like in the movie is “Don’t talk about destiny if your feelings change so fast” which really adds new light and direction into a phrase we use so often, “are we destined to be together” , destined comes with lots of other sacrifices, hardwork, perseverance and emotions as well.

I would give this movie 3.5/5, the only glitch is that it gets too dramatic at times, and there are too many things happening at one time. But overall, the movie brings to light many values in life and if you are a fan of Japanese culture and society, you will surely like this as well as it shows some really beautiful scenery in Japan, such as the falling sakura blossoms, the night sky of the city and a traditional Japanese festival. Not to mention the cast are great in their acting as well, effectively bringing out emotions and character and not being overly expressive. Last of which, after watching the show, which had chocolate as sort of symbol between destiny, I felt like eating chocolate!

Oh yea, and at the end, there’s a little twist of expectancy !

Today we had a last min decision to celebrate Eunice's birthday on her actual day! we went to my favorite restaurant Bumbu!, A Thai Indonesia restaurant near Arab street! highly recommended! although Seb and Eunice just thought it was not bad. Its ok in my heart that restaurant is still number 1!

If any of you ever go there, do check out the Green Curry CHICKEN or BEEF, it taste sweet and sour and is absolutely delicious, my favorite dish so far.

We also went to a retro toy museum which had lots of stuff from my parents generation, from a hawker stall to a barber seat to toys, trophies, games, trishaw cinema and lots interesting things from early Singapore history. Do bring your parents if you have the time, worth a visit, but could be bigger though, and it costs $2 per entry! Thanks Eunice for treating us!

Updates Updates!
What have I been doing recently.......

More or less most of my outings have been with my cell group, and I really enjoyed each of the times spent together. Went to help out at Andy's tuition center on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday for his open house. Really inspired by him, only 24 years old and already the boss of a tuition centre in a prime location next to Fernvale MRT! for those that need or wants tuition, I highly recommend this centre, especially if you are staying around Seng Kang Area, this guy has made it 2 the dean's list almost every semester, and it really good at teaching as well, his specially is maths and science, especially JC level. Yea

Had fun blowing balloons with Helium, here's a short video of what I sound like with Helium!

On Friday, we had a cell outing to celebrate Eunice's birthday!, made her do really nasty forfeits like biting a lemon and singing a song, doing the monkey dance and other stuff, here are the beautiful photos!

On Saturday we had a an outing to a Japanese restaurant at Paradiz centre, quite affordable and delicious I must say, headed down to the arcade after that to relive some of the old times.. ( I used to be a pro at DDR and Time Crisis 2), haha, but I got defeated by Ben on the scoring charts on Monday when we played. More photos!

There's this game I played at Andy's tuition centre called Cashflow, you can visit Richdad.com for more information, its sort of a game that teaches you how to invest and get out of the rat race of life of just earning to make ends meet when actually you can do and make more out of your money in investing and such. One example is Andy, who started by giving tuition and expanded it to opening a tuition centre with Jun Yang, whereby in future when there are sufficient tutors and students, he practically does not need to do much and the income will just flow in, this is called passive income and is something I learnt from this game and something I think everybody should know to plan for the future.

I was also talking to Rena , Jun Yang's wife about weddings and realized its actually quite costly to host a wedding, and that wedding dinners are mostly for the parents. When she told me she only invited close friends to her wedding dinner I was quite stunned because all this while I thought the wedding dinner was a chance like a 21st Birthday party where you could invite and revisit all your old friends again! but when she told me 1 table was about $1000, I suddenly got a new light into weddings and relationships. That financial stability is really really important if you truly want to bless your spouse, especially if your a man. Yea, so do not waste your youth! , start learning how you can invest and grow your money now! your never too young to start. We don't need to be just studying and studying in University and worrying about getting a job later on. There's so much more you can do! Speak for myself right?, haha yea I'm trying to learn the ropes now and planning to make and find ways to create income now so that I don't have to rely on my parents so much and can bless my spouse in future!!!

Operation 6 pac

HI EVERYBODY!!!!

Sorry for the long absence of this blog and all the failed promises. I promise to update my blog regularly now, at least once a week, for all the friends and family who want to know more about the latest happenings in my life. The holidays have been great so far, a run down of things I've done.

Joined Parade of Schools and performed cheerleading in front of 8,000 people! Made alot of friends and had a very fun time, felt growth in my spiritual walk with God!

Went for 3 morning prayer meetings and 1 night prayer meeting! feel more closer and refreshed and more on fire for God!

Went for Elevate camp 2009!! had a blast! made lots of new friends and our group almost won best OG!, lost by 1 point!, but nonetheless, I will remember the memories and fun times!, especially going to the childcare centre, cheering, playing war games , doing the skit about social entrepreneurship and opening up a restaurant and many many more! hey ! many many more ! Mingle mingle!!!

Last of all, just came back from Sentosa yesterday! the weather was really good and it was a good and fun time of fellowshiping with new friends! hope to have more of such outings soon!

Now for the serious stuff, from today onwards I will begin seriously, operation 6 physical and spiritual 6 pac. For the next 3 months I will

1) Pray every morning for 1 hour
2) Go on a 3 week vege fast
3) Exercise for 30 mins 4 times a week
4) Have prayer conferences twice a week
5) Practice guitar for 3 hrs twice a week
6) Drink 8 glasses of water everyday
7) Eat 3 servings of fruit everyday
8) Sleep at least 7 hours everyday
9) Go for Bible study once a week
10) Do or say something nice for someone everyday!

I will update you on my progress! till then, see you soon friends!

Hey all. Especially to my faithful readers... to reward you. I'm going to revamp my blog. Especially during this 3 months of holiday! It will be spicier, more entertaining and of course more personal. Gone shall be the days of a non-updating blog. This is lineup that I have planned for the upcoming 3 months.

I have decided to write a play as I have so much free time during this 3 months~! yeah, each will will be an installment of the play. Its about an avid dancer named Dawn, and her dance group DJz, that goes through trials in a modern Singapore society filled with issues surrounding their everyday life. And of course, the story will also have a male, Terry in it as her love interest. Will they be together! stay tuned to find out!

Song of the week ! Yes, I'll be introducing a new song every week! be it Thai Korean Japanese English of Chinese. For avid music lovers. This will be coupled with a podcast of the latest updates in my life of course~! and also updates on project RAIN

What is project RAIN?
Basically its my aim to have a body and be as successful as RAIN.

I must reiterate that I am not gay, but I am inspired by this Korean singer-actor, who was once a poor kid on a street that worked his way up to superstardom. He focused on his dancing alot, practicing day and night. And even went to 19 auditions! before finally being accepted as a backup dancer at first, before slowly making his mark with his determination to succeed. He also did this for his mother, who was sick and passed away when he released his first album, which further spurs his success as a dedicated to his Mother. Very touching and very inspiring.

Basically, I hope to achieve6 pac haha, a fully toned body, a clear complexion and a confident personality. PROCRASTINATION has to end and tomorrow will be the start of "project rain"

A Beautiful Story

A little boy was selling newspapers on the corner, the people were in and out of the cold.

The little boy was so cold that he wasn't trying to sell many papers.

He walked up to a policeman and said,
"Mister,
you wouldn't happen to know where a poor boy could find a warm place to sleep tonight would you?

You see, I sleep in a box up around the corner there and down the alley and it's awful cold in there for tonight.

Sure would be nice to have a warm place to stay."

The policeman looked down at the little boy and said, "You go down the street to that big white house and you knock on the door. When they come out the door you just say John 3:16, and they will let you in."

So he did. He walked up the steps and knocked on the door, and a lady answered. He looked up and said, "John 3:16 ." The lady said, "Come on in, Son."

She took him in and she sat him down in a split bottom rocker in front of a great big old fireplace, and she w ent off. The boy sat there for a while and thought to himself:
John 3:16 ...I don't understand it, but it sure makes a cold boy warm.

Later she came back and asked him "Are you hungry ?"
He said, "Well, just a little. I haven't eaten in a couple of days, and I guess I could stand a little bit of food,"

The lady took him in the kitchen and sat him down to a table full of wonderful food. He ate and ate until he couldn't eat any more. Then he thought to himself:
John 3:16 ...Boy, I sure don't understand it but it sure makes a hungry boy full.

She took him upstairs to a bathroom to a huge bathtub filled with warm water, and he sat there and soaked for a while. As he soaked, he thought to himself: John 3:16...
I sure don't understand it, but it sure makes a dirty boy clean. You know, I've not had a bath, a real bath, in my whole life. The only bath I ever had was when I stood in front of that big old fire hydrant as they flushed it out.
The lady came in and got him. She took him to a room, tucked him into a big old feather bed, pulled the covers up around his neck, kissed him goodnight and turned out the lights. As he lay in the darkness and looked out the window at the snow coming down on that cold night, he thought to himself: John 3:16 ...I don't understand it but it sure makes a tired boy rested.

The next morning the lady came back up and took him down again to that same big table full of food. After he ate, she took him back to that same big old split bottom rocker in front of the fireplace and picked up a big old Bible.

She sat down in front of him and looked into his young face.
"Do you understand John 3:16? " she asked gently. He repl ied, "No, Ma'am, I don't. The first time I ever heard it was last night when the policeman told me to use it,"
She opened the Bible to John 3:16 and began to explain to him about Jesus. Right there, in front of that big old fireplace, he gave his heart and life to Jesus. He sat there and thought: John 3:16 -- don't understand it, but it sure makes a lost boy feel safe.

You know, I have to confess I don't understand it either, how God was willing to send His Son to die for me, and how Jesus would agree to do such a thing. I don't understand the agony of the Father and every angel in heaven as they watched Jesus suffer and die. I don't understand the intense love for ME that kept Jesus on the cross till the end.
I don't understand it, but it sure does make life worth living.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Hi, my com crashed.... sadly ..

Now I'm using the school computer. I just realized that the swimming pool opens on Sunday~!~!~! Think we should make use of NUS facilities more often as its all free!!

Anyway my exams are coming up soon, yeah, next week. Rather excited for it to be over. Anyway. The past few weeks have been awesome, especially with regards to the Thai music circle. We had a concert at LT13, and another one coming up on May 16th! do watch out for it.

Anyway also went to the Thai embassy and the Thai temple respectively to perform for Ajarn Koong over the weekend! will upload the videos unto youtube soon. Still wondering if I should do honours or not. My cap is now 3.2... I need to get at least 4 A- to push it up to 3.5. Right now I'm only confident for 2 moudules. Pop culture in SG as well as Thai music. 2 of the most fun modules I have ever taken and 2 of which I highly recommend!

I just came back from the most outstanding wonderful superb concert ever!

Organized by NUS G.A.M.E , consisting of NUS electronic music lab, NUS piano ensemble, NUS guitar ensemble, NUS Jazz Band and NUS Chinese Orchestra, this group of music and gaming enthusiasts came up with this free concert at the UCC Dance Studio

We sort of sat on the floor of the dance studio, facing this big projector screen, and around us where different "stages" of instruments , in which with each item, stage lights will shine on the different areas of the stage, so we were sort of in the center, at first, the first item was a piano violin number, it was good, but this was just the beginning of what is to come.

After that came a few piano pieces of songs , some single, some duets on piano, and it was simply breath taking... Then the Jazz Band played Super Mario theme! again breath taking, would you imagine a band! playing super mario. I only heard people play it on guitar but , breathless, simply breathless. There was also a guy who played the Tetris theme on the accordion!!! it sort of like a mini keyboard but its played with one hand while the other hand moves the accord. He went slow at first and later sped up to unbelievable speeds. Then was my favourite number, a pianist together with a chinese flute player and an er hu player!!! I felt like crying when I heard this piece of music. IT was like so oriental yet western yet unique yet stylish at the same time. They played the song Sedge Tree - Sedge Flower from Shenmue, here's a video of another version of the song.

The flutist and Erhu player simply combined to near perfection. I felt like I was in a Zhang Yimou Chinese film at one point. Is it just me or I'm really starting to like oriental music.

Some other interesting songs played include Ryu's theme!

Played with 2 keyboardist and pianist, went from slow to fast, and again the speed at which they played was breathtaking.

This was played by the Guitar ensemble. Superb

Of course there was the famous FFV11 Main theme, and it was done by the Electronic music lab! a sort of techno club version~! also very cool!

And the last song was a collaboration between all the instruments~! simply great! imagine, er hu playing with accordin with piano with a band with violin with saxophone.

Makes me wonder what I've been doing with my life, wasting my time away, when I could learn something and master it. These people must have had great determination and perseverance to reach their skill level.

I felt really inspired on 2 levels, one of which is I learnt to appreciate more kinds of music, I mean most of these songs are classical music without vocals, the first time I enjoyed non vocal music to this extent. In particular, oriental music really hit me . I should really go out there and attend more such performing arts concert. Although yes money needs to be spent, but somehow I feel watching such concerts really helps you relax and get inspired and of course appreciative of the wonderful things.

The 2nd is their simple brilliance. To be good at what they do and reach this standard. I never knew NUS had this talent. Now I know how vibrant campus life can be. Its just up to you to find it and make full use of it. NTU talks about the 2 suicide cases. After watching this concert, I really think that its not all about our education system that is the problem, its about really finding your own vibrancy and creating your own meaning to how well you wanna spend your educational years. How you have a mindset of not only just with stress of competing but also developing your other talents and nurtueing your overall growth. After all, after watching this I really think there's many wonderful things man can do to make life beautiful, of course I thank God for all these things as well. How he made man so complex and wonderful, its up to us to find our potential.

I hope you find some inspiration from reading this, I'll definitely inform you guys if there's another such concert next year.

Just came back from RT session. Super tired... ran 3k again, did some chin up exercises and ended with abs and legs training.

However, I can see myself getting fitter and leaner! Elizabeth did notice that I was starting to lose weight! haha, but however, when I tried to do SBJ today, again I couldn't get past the 216 mark, the most I got was 120. Why is it so hard to get that additional 6 cm!!!!

Anyway, watch this space! my 6 pac is coming soon~. Am also considering going for the drama ministry for Easter, but will have to look at the schedule first. Yea, they are calling out for backstage crew, actors for disciples and roman soldiers. Sounds fun!

Recently my blog does not have much pictures. In future I will try to add some pictures for the loyal people that do visit my blog. Anyway, recently there's another suicide case in NTU. Really sad, like what Sebrina says, tells alot about our educational system here. Its very focused on meritocracy. But then again, should we blame the system, or should we blame our mentality, because ultimately, it is the working people who set the standards on who they want to employ, and more often then not they will look at our grades and what honors we have and such....

Blogging in School

Blogging in school now. Waiting for class to start at 4pm. I shall write about the recent happenings in my life.

Wrote a song for the cell's zone CD, basically I used the concept of what Eunice came up with to paint the wall of Andy's house. It is based upon Galatians 5:22 "But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy , patience, kindness , goodness , faithfulness", this created the core of the song and the main message I hope to portray is that, God is living among us, he has all these characteristics and we can have them to, which can ultimately bring us to our destiny in him. He plants a seed in each and every one of us and he wants us to grow with the fruits of spirit, becoming Christ-like and moving to transform society, reaching out to those in need.
Will post the song up soon~! =)

Went for 3 RT sessions already, must say its quite fruitful. Every session apart from the introduction required running 3km. So far I'm on track in my fitness regime. What the enci said was very inspiring and here are some tips I would like to share about physical training

1) Overloading, training overnight for a goal will not work. Last minute action creates disasterous reactions.

2) Consistency - make it a point to be consistent to maintain your level of fitness

3) Have variety - Dont just run. Swim, sports and all can help to sustain motivation

4) Specific. Be specific in the majorty of your training on which area you want to improve on

5) Full body workout - Imaging if you want to train for your chin - up, you dont just keep doing chin ups right, a good full body workout is best to start, and then do the specifics.

6) Set progressive training , if you keep running 2 rounds, you will never be able to run 3 rounds.

Decided to post this after Alex showed it to us during cell group.

This video explains the various troubles we go through in life, that can harm us and put us down or tempt. Despite these troubles we face, and although life may seem unbearable to some of us, there is hope, watch on to find out more...

Anyway, went to RT today, ran 3k!!! 10mins for the first 2km, came in at around 5th position, but there still was one more round to go, decided to walk in the end and finished the last round in a combined time with the other rounds of 18 mins, I actually took 8 mins to finish the last 1km!

Anyway, my exercise plan is going according to schedule..... looking forward to finally achieving my aim of 63kg.

School work is really piling up. Feeling quite stressed now, feel like stoning but cant stone as alot of things need to be done! I pray for help from above.. feeling rather down lately, sometimes wondering at my existence.... need a new revival in my life..to explain what exactly is going on...

Can I have this dance

Heyz, its been long since I last blogged. Feeling rather lethargic recently... Anyway, I have not bee doing much since the new year. Had a great Birthday celebrated with my cell group. But personally, my life has been going downhill since the new year started.

I really miss my life in Vietnam. When I heard this song, I remembered me watching disney channel in Vietnam, and all the memories start flowing back again.

But life goes on, henceforth today, for the upteen time, I shall say it again, I want to change and fulfill my goals for this year. No more slacking, no more lethargy, no more feeling lonely.....

When I went to weigh myself just now, I was shocked! I'm like 74kg now. My goal is still 65kg, after so long, I　still cant hit it. Well, tomorrow is a brand new day!!! And yesterday I went bowling and almost got my lowest score ever!!! although my third game did get 130, my 1st game was barely over 50!

Anyway. So much work to do. Taking 6 modules is really a killer, and I have to pull up my CAP. Gambatte to myself!!! God please help me~

By the way, I came up with this name for my cosmetics project product, its called Sere Diance! haha cool??, its sort of a whitener + moisturizer + sunblock 3 in 1, why is it called Sere Diance, its made up of 2 words, Serenade your skin, and Radiate your sunshine!

Happy Chinese New Year to all!

Greetings and a Happy Chinese new year to all!

I would like to wish you all great blessings and prosperity ! 恭喜恭喜

Went down for a new year service yesterday, and it was really really interesting! What Pastor Kong talked about was the fact that Chinese was over 5000 years of history, and Buddhist Daoism and Confucianism came into the Chinese world at around the 5-6 BC. What was interesting is that before that era, the Chinese believed in one God, who has called 天（ｔｉａｎ）ｏｒ　上帝　（Ｇｏｄ）．．Later on he went on the describe many Chinese words that actually have many co-relations with the book of genesis and the events in the Christian world! , for instance the word 天　actually consist of 大　with an added line above, which means something that is bigger than big, which represents God, which is what the meaning of the word is. Therefore with the added line, it is 天．Hence, being a Christian does not mean moving further away from Chinese culture, but in reality, association with Chinese culture. Nobody knows when the Chinese language was founded. As the Chinese originated at around 2,500 B.C the power of written language could document events in history. The thing about the chinese language is that it does not use romanticized characters but symbols, hence each symbol could be also telling a part of history. What were the global events that could have taken place that people could record down with the long history of the Chinese language, these could be the flood and the tower of Babel, which led to the scattering of people and languages, and the settlement of the Chinese people.

Other interesting words include 造，meaning creation which actually consists of words like clay 土，　口，　ｍｏｕｔｈ　ｏｒ　ｂｒｅａｔｈ，　ａｎｄ　水 , hence , it means that when God spoke, land and water was created. Another word is 罪，　which means sin, this one was developed from its ancient form by Emperor Qin Shi Huang, who was not a Christian, but yet maybe unknowingly developed the word into something based on the Bible. The word 4 or 四 actually represents the 4 contradictions that the serpent tempted Eve with to make her eat the fruit. This is written in Genesis 3:1, the 1st contradiction the serpent said is that "you can eat any fruit in the tree" and 2nd is that "you won't die when you eat the fruit", 2nd is that "ｙｏｕ　wont die when you touch the fruit" Lastly the 4th is that "when you eat it you will be like God", the 3rd is that , the word below 四, 非 actually means error or wrongdoing , therefore wrongdoing based under the 4 contradictions of the serpent, hence, the word 罪　ｏｒ　ｓｉｎ．

Another word is 魔　ｏｒ　ｔｅｍｐｔｅｒ　ｏｒ　ｅｖｉｌ　ｓｐｉｒｉｔｓ．If you look closely, there are 2 trees in the word or 林 forest under an enclosure, and below it，a 鬼　or demon. Hence, the tempter originated from a demon hiding behind the trees in the forest, which is similar to the serpent that tempted Eve in Genesis. Even the word 禁　ｏｒ　ｆｏｒｂｉｄ　consist once again of the forest or the 2 trees 林.. followed by the word 示　underneath it , which means notify or to show. Hence, forbid came about by the notification of the forbidden fruit on the tree in the Genesis. In the word garden, or 園，　you can see it consisting of an enclosure 口，followed by mud，　土，　Ｇｏｄ，　ｐｒｅｓｅｎｔｅｄ　ｂｙ　ｈｉｓ　ｗｏｒｄ　ａｎｄ　breadth, 口，　and finally , 人 representing man and an additional two strokes, representing women. Hence, man and women in a garden with God is 園 and the word for garden. Even the word 躲，　ｏｒ　ｈｉｄｅ　comes from a man or body 身　，　hiding behind a tree　木, who is Adam, after he has sinned. The word hard-pressed, or in distress 困 or 困难 also symbolizes the tree of knowledge of good and evil, which is enclosed. As God instructed that the fruits of the tree should not be ate or touched, hence touching or eating it, which Adam and Eve did, resulted in their feelings or distress towards God. It can also mean that the temptation to eat the fruit of the tree by the servant was hard-pressed to resist by Adam and Eve.

Similarly , the word 福　ｗｈｉｃｈ　we always use during Chinese New Year, actually has different components in it. Including 神，　representing God, followed by 一　(one) meaning at one with God , and 田，　which means garden, hence, Being at one with God in the garden, something Adam was at in the garden, and thus, used as a symbol of blessing in the word 福.

Surely, the Chinese people in the past would have remembered significant events in the past, such as the flood and the tower of babel, which scattered people all over the word and split their languages from a commonality. This can be seen in the word ｓｈｉｐ　ｏｒ　船，ｔｈｉｓ　character consist of a vessel ，ｔｈｅ　ｃｈａｒａｃｔｅｒ　ｆｏｒ　８　，　ｏｒ　八，　ｒｅｐｒｅｓｅｎｔｉｎｇ　the people in the Ark that was built for the flood, which had 8 people inside, recorded in Genesis 7:11, these included Noah, his wife, and their 3 songs, Shem, Ham and Japheth, and their wives. All in all, there are 8 people. The last character 口，　represents God's calling of Noah to built the ark.

The first major crime was also recorded in the Bible, which was murder of Abel by his Brother Cain. The word for ｉｎｈｕｍａｎ，　ｏｒ　ｖｉｏｌｅｎｃｅ，　ｗｈｉｃｈ　ｃａｎ　ｂｅ　ｕｓｅｄ　ａｌｓｏ　ｆｏｒ　ｍｕｒｄｅｒ，　ｉｓ　兇，　ｔｈｉｓ　ｉｓ　ｓｉｍｉｌａｒ　to the word for brother, which is 兄，　hence, as Cain killed his brother, you can see this in comparison with the 2 characters. Hence, the word evil, bad or fear is 凶　which is again similar to 兇, which represents Cains murder or Abel as an evil act.

Then there is the tower of Babel, a landmark which the Babylonians built to construct a common identity and language for themselves. In doing so they neglected the command of God to go forth and multiply, populate the world and have dominion over all of Creation. Instead they exalted themselves and thought of themselves as gods in which they said nothing will be impossible for them.
The Lord hence, giving them a chance to go and fulfill their cultural mandate rather than be consumed by the sin of rebellion and pride by which lucifer fell, struck down the tower and hence, scattered them all over the world, confused with different languages, also showing men that nothing is impossible with God.

Hence , this is recorded in Chinese history as well, the people who have scattered to the east. The word tower or 塔 actually consists of 土　ｃｌａｙ　or tar. 口，ａ　ｃｏｍｍｏｎ　ｌａｎｇｕａｇｅ，　and 合　ｏｒ　ｃｏｍｍｏｎａｌｉｔｙ．　hence you can see the word 塔 as actually having the same reference as the word in the book of Genesis, a tower build by people of a common language made of bricks and tar to symbolize commonality. This is in Genesis 11:1.

The word 婪　consists of the 2 trees, tree of knowledge of good and evil and the tree of life, the first Sin was by Eve, a Women, and hence, 婪 which means greed, actually represents the temptation of greed faced by Eve by the devil to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Then you have the word 乱，　ｗｈｉｃｈ　ｍｅａｎｓ　messy or scattered. Again, this consist of a right leg moving in one direction, and different languages moving in another direction , represented by 口, hence the word 乱, similar to what happened after the fall of the tower of Babel. In which people and languages were scattered across the world.

分，ｏｒ　ｓｅｐaｒａｔｅｄ，　consists of a knife representing separation, and the character 八　ｏｒ　８　，　which represents the 8 generations from Adam, until the tower of Babel, which started the great scatter of people across the world. In addition in the compound word 分散，　which also means separate, 散，　actually consists of the word 共，ｍｅａｎｉｎｇ　ａｌｌ　ｏｒ　commonality, and 肉, which means flesh. Put together and simplified , it meas all flesh or a common flesh , common in language and people. Then there is the word for migrate , which relates to the Chinese people at that time, which is the word 遷，ｔｈｉｓ　ｗｏｒｄ　consist of the flow of movement of people, 西　ｗｈｉｃｈ　ｍｅａｎｓ west, or from the west, after which is the word 大，for a big migration, and lastly below that is the word for division, all in all meaning a big division of people moving to the east from the west, symbolizing the Chinese people after the fall of the towel of babel. The word 血，　ｏｒ　ｂｌｏｏｄ，　also shows drops of blood in a vessel, to be sacrificed in order so that man can be with God, literal in meaning during old testament times.

With the fall of men, God wants people to come once again have a way to come back to him, hence God used the blood sacrifice system. In which in Levitus 9 , in the old testament days, would be the blood sacrifice of a bull and a lamb or calf. This can be seen in the Chinese word for sacrifice, which is 犧，ｔｈｉｓ　consists of ａｎ　ｏｘ，　牛，　and a lamb 羊，　ａｎｄ　at the bottom, 秀，　without blemish, and the right side of the character represents to kill with a spear. Hence, this again is inline with the passage in the Bible of the blood sacrifice.

Lastly, is the word righteous , which is 义　ｗｈｉｃｈ　is the sacrifice of blood over the cross, representing Jesus Christ who died for our sins so that we will have righteousness. The complicated form of 义，　would be

1 Peter 1:17-21
17 Since you call on a Father who judges each person's work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. 18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 21 Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.
The top part actually consists of a lamb or 羊，　ｆｏｌｌｏｗｅｄ　ｂｙ　我，ｗｈｉｃｈ　ｍｅａｎｓ me. This represents, Jesus, as the lamb of God , (John 1:29) , sacrificing himself for our sins so that we may have righteousness in God the right side of 我 could also symbolize the spear which the roman soldier pieced Jesus with. "And do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. (Romans 6:13).

"See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we shall be. We know that, when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him just as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure." (1 John 3:1-3).

Through Jesus we can have eternal life, which is represented by　羔　，ｗｈｉｃｈ　ａｌｓｏ　ｍｅａｎｓ　ｌａｍｂ　ｉｎ　ｓｙｍｂｏｌｉｃ　ｔｅｒｍｓ，　ｗｈｉｃｈ　ｍｅａｎｓ　ｔｈｅ　Ｌａｍｂ　ｏｆ　Ｇｏｄ，　Ｊｅｓｕｓ，　ｗｈｏ　ｐｒｏｖｉｄｅｓ　ｕｓ　ｗｉｔｈ　ｅｔｅｒｎａｌ　ｌｉｆｅ　ｂｙ　ｃｌｅａｎｓｉｎｇ　ｏｕｒ　ｓｉｎｓ　ｂｙ　ｄｙｉｎｇ　ｏｎ　ｔｈｅ　ｃｒｏｓｓ . This character shows 3 drops of water and a lamb or 羊，　ｈｅｎｃｅ, Jesus , being the lamb of God, cleansing us like water from our sins, in which we can have eternal life. John 3:16.
Even before the coming of Jesus, his sacrifice was already prophesied by the Chinese people, subconsciously or consciously, it is definitely a work of God.
Revelation 7:17
17 For the Lamb at the center before the throne
will be their shepherd;
'he will lead them to springs of living water.' [b]
'And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.' [c]"

Then there is the word for faith, which is 信．　This shows man 人 believing in the word 口, a symbol for speech , word, and language. In other words, faith by confession of a human/man which is God. In the Bible it clearly says as well, in Romans 10:17 "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ." NIV version.

I will end of with a verse from Acts 17 :22-26
22Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: "Men of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious. 23For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Now what you worship as something unknown I am going to proclaim to you.

24"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. 25And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. 26From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. The Areopagus are just like the religious Chinese people. And it verse 26 it just shows and confirms again the existence of the Chinese people who have scattered to the east. Hence, God is a God for all people, and he really wants to know you and to save you.

During Chinese new year, we would often greet each other with the phrase , "吉祥如意＂，　this means may God bless you as well as the word 祥，　ｃｏｎｓｉｓｔｓ　ｏｆ　God　神 and 羊，lamb, when God sent his son Jesus, the Lamb of God to die for us, we can have righteousness and blessings abundant, hence the meaning of 祥，ａｓ　auspicious, because of God's sacrifice for us, we may have blessings.

Taiwan Greetings Part 3

The day she left...19th January 2008.

I sort of was so tired the previous day that I couldn't really wake up the next day. In turn, she was the one who woke me up. And I immediately said sorry as we couldn't go to the hill as I woke up rather late. Immediately she said its ok, why say sorry. She just looked so contended that it was heart-warming.

Then, we went up to the abandoned railway track near my house. She said it was rather scary. I gave her a spot to write on the track, which was a spot I previously wrote on when I was about 14 years old. One of the sentences she wrote was, "Daniel is the best"... aww thank you so much. She asked me if I wanted to write something, but I didn't really because I wanted to write something that she couldn't see. Then we headed down and she exclaimed that it was like Sapa in Singapore.

After that , it was almost time to leave, we took a cab down to Changi Airport, where she chatted with the driver for awhile, on some interesting facts about Singapore, such as our sand issue with Indonesia, water issue with Malaysia, and the fact that the road leading to Changi Airport could be reconstructed into a runway! we got off at Terminal 1 , where her luggage was sort of overweight and hence she had to give me some items ( happy ! ). She said returning to Taiwan was sort of a love-hate relationship. And she also sort of mentioned that she didn't really want to leave. We hugged and said goodbye, where she waved continuously at me at the departure area. I wanted to cry really, but I could not cry in front of her. She even wanted me to eat the mifen that she couldn't bring up, and ordered me to eat it so that my mother will not be angry.

In the end, I went to the viewing gallery to see her plane leave before I decided to leave as well. Its the end of a very beautiful story. Will there be a continuation?

The funny jokes, such as me accidentally interpreting a news section on the radio in the taxi as "poor-man's news", and the many ghost stories that I forgot to tell.

Her expression when I asked her to take photos of everything interesting, and when she reacted at the things I suggested to her but she just said "It can be found in Taiwan", especially the mountains.

She helped my mother to fold clothes and talked to her for about an hour even though she was feeling sick. Also went out with my cell group despite feeling sick.

Sharing her drink as she couldn't finish and told me to save money and keep my bundung so I could drink it at home.

Thanking me by treating me when I was trying to find a dessert stall in Chinatown when I actually made her wait rather long.

Her exclaimation of Zara, Topshop, Forever 21 and River Island, shopping malls that cannot be found in Taiwan, also the great tasting Ya-Kun and the uniqueness of "7-11" which is slang in Taiwan as "Seven"

By saying that children are children and should be excused instead of complaining when I said they were too noisy in the bus and hence she could not take a good rest.

Her happiness in the kitchen on the first day of arriving in Singapore.

Taiwan Greetings Part 2

On the 3rd day morning, we headed down to Little India in the morning. Again it was a memorable trip and also my first time visiting Little India. It was pretty colourful with mini-shops selling stuff that you cannot find in Taiwan.

We wanted to eat at Muthu curry at first, but found that it was rather expensive. Ended up at another place instead which we thought was banana leaf but it wasn't! anyway the food was still rather food. She didn't really eat much though, as she was still sick and recovering. After that we headed down to Sentosa!, went to take a tram around the beaches before proceeding to palawan beach to talk a walk along the river. We also crossed the bridge and headed up the mini hut for a photo taking session! , when we asked a Thai to help us take photos, she obliged and went as far as taking at least 5 shots of us! I dont know why she did that but maybe it could be because we are photogenic together haha.

Soon after that we went to the Night Safari, took a walk down the walking route as the tram ride was rather expensive. What amazed me was that she was willing to treat me at first!, but I didn't want her to but it was a nice gesture and something i'm very touched by. Saw many small animals like a fishing cat , tiger and lion. And found out the path was not circular. Hence we needed to walk backwards to go back. Again we apprached one of the staff for a photo, and she gladly took at least 3 photos for us! so kind and thoughtful of her. Oh and we also watched the animal show which was rather entertaining.

After the night safari we were rather tired, and she said she was rather sad that she wouldn't be able to see the Merlion at night, but in a flash we decided, why not we go see it now, as the last bus was still operating. So we changed our route and went to see the Merlion again!, it was a tense time as we had to see the time so that we dont miss the last bus, but upon reaching the Merlion, I just felt realy calm and peaceful, as the serenity was rather great! here's one of the pictures we took, courtesy of a help by a Japanese photographer, who helped us to adjust the lightings till it looked rather serenity( ok I don't know if this word can be used this way )

After that we managed to catch the last bus, and headed home~~ ready for the next day, which was sadly, her last day in Singapore for this trip.

Taiwan Greetings

My Taiwanese friend Jia Lun came over for a holiday in Singapore. It was a memorable 3 days , which we went to many places. She came along with SAM, an American that I knew in Vietnam as well. For the first night, Sam stayed along with us, but for the 2nd night, he left as his friend was on his way, and there wasn't enough space at my house.

I was really excited to pick her up at the airport. She seemed very enthusisastic about the trip and was smiling all the way when I saw her at the airport. One of the common things she kept saying was "Am I really in Singapore", on other days, she would still imagine that she is in Vietnam, but the truth is, she really is in Singapore.

On the first day of our adventure, we firstly headed down to Holland Village, this is where we ate Yakun for breakfast, ordered 3 different sets , cheese , kaya, and butter sugar toasts. It was really delicious and the funny thing was as it was very hot, she ordered Ice milk tea instead of hot tea, which I answered in return that very few people would change their tea to ice for 70c. This is joke no 1.

After that we went on down past Orchard road to Fort Canning Park, took a little walk there with the cannons before heading down to the National Museam. It was a first for me as well going into the new museam and it was really an eye-opener, the Museam was so well furbished and the tour was very interesting, with a total 360 degree experience of Singapore's past, much much better than the museams I visited in Vietnam. Although the way, as Jialun was not a student, she could not pay the student ticket and hence had to pay for a $10 adult fee to get in. She felt a little dissappointed at the price and the fact that she could have avoided it, but nonetheless it was memorable. I managed to get a headset for her, in which the screen brokedown half way, and she was quite surprised haha.

After the Museam, we walked under the hot sun to City Hall, and went up close to view the Merlion, the iconic symbol of Singapore. Again, she was very excited at this view and exclaimed that she didn't need to see anything else in Singapore. Along the way I kept saying that she should take pictures of many things unfamiliar to Taiwan and Vietnam, even if it was small things like the fine signs and so- on, and she gave me the sarcastic face...."Hey I'm a tourist ok!"

In addition, she was very persistent in not wanting to do things that can be found in Taiwan, which was quite hilarious. Like I asked her if she wanted to climb a hill, and she said Taiwan has many hills. Or if she wanted to eat something Chinese, which she exclaimed that Taiwan does have this things. On the first day in total I brought her to eat mainly Chinese food, which was not so great or unique to Singapore but it was great nonetheless.

After that we crossed the Bridge to the Esplande and took a view from the rooftop. Following which I took her to my school, NUS, to attend a lesson : Traditional Thai Music in Singapore, and at the same time introduce her to my friends Sok Yi and Le. Sok Yi was so kind afterthat in that she was willing to drive and go out with us to explore Singapore in the night. We headed, again, to the Esplande, listened to some nice live music and ate at Makansutra. I helped them order "Char Kway Teow" as well as a hotpot dish which I feel wasn't that great as the BBQ was quite badly positioned, hence she sort of ate some raw beef. But the atmosphere was really great and I really enjoyed myself.

After that Sok Yi took us to Demsey road, another very beautiful place in Singapore, we proceeded to Ben and Jerry's , and Jia Lun treated us to a brownie chocolate cake!, there was a live band performing there as well and it was really great. It was a tiring day, but one filled with memories.

The next morning my mother took me and her to eat some Rojak at westcoast, however, the Rojak stall was closed! so we settled instead for Chicken rice, Mee Goreng and Kamping soup. It was delicious!!! but we couldn't finish it was it was quite alot. After that we headed down to Chinatown as Chinese new year was coming. We saw many many things there, and she was quite excited whenever she saw Taiwanese things in Singapore, like for example Taiwanese Muah Chee. It was again rather hot as we walked through Chinatown, stopping for ice kachang dessert along the way, that was went we met SAM again, which I feel was really very coincidental.

After Chinatown we headed down to Maxwell food centre, as she wanted to buy the famous Chicken rice that she saw online, "Tian Tian Ji Fan", we bought a packet but she said that she couldn't eat it now as she was feeling abit uncomfortable because of the unpredictability of Singapore's weather. I brought her soonafter to Church at expo, she got quite excited at the size and style of my Church as well, and even said that she wanted to cry when she heard the first praise song, as it was quite relevant to her. Although she quite sick at this point of time, she still went on to fellowship with my cell group mates. We went down to Bugis to eat some Malay food but she couldn't really eat and hence just bought a bombay chendol. Also, to save money, she let me drink her chendol as she couldn't finish and asked me to pack the Bandung that I bought. I was quite surprised and touched at this gesture at the same time.

Its a brand new year, a brand new start for a brand new me or you. Well, this year, I have many resolutions, and this year, I decided to go more into detail to change myself for the better and make 2009 the best year yet for me.

1) I will reply SMS ASAP and answer my phone, or return missed calls.
2) I will learn to speak louder and with more confidence, looking at the person I talk to as a sign of respect
3) I must lose weight and be 63kg
4) I must get at least SILVER for IPPT
5) Be on the DEAN'S List for this upcoming semester

Its been a long time since I last updated my blog ~~

Many things have happened, and its now November the 9th, I have exactly 1 week and 4 days left in Vietnam..

How time flies.. I have really learnt alot from this trip , and I feel that this trip has made me a better person. Learning many lessons throughout the way. For those of you who are thinking of going for a student exchange programme, I would suggest that you go for it, as it will be an unbelievable life changing experience.

Yesterday I went to Bat Trang again, a pottery Village about 1 hour away from Hanoi, where I did my own pottery! will upload the pics soon, also both some gifts for my friends back in Singapore, mainly, belt, necklaces and magnets that are really cool, all mostly made up of ceramic material.

And I got lost 3 times, haha, need to work on my direction sense. We walked so much today, but it was fun. Went to the dentist, to cure my toothache, still have to go for another 3 more trips! , everytime I go , the process is quite painful~~ and I'm very much eating only on one side of my mouth. Really need your prayers for my tooth's healing. Many many thanks! And God Bless you back

Well, my parents are not coming to Vietnam after all, mainly because I still have to finish up my report, need to practice for a performance coming up on the 18th! , and I may be going to SAPA before the 15th, but my parents are only free after the 15th.. well, its ok.. I promise I will bring them around next year on a trip again to Hanoi.. Yea

Its getting rather cold in Hanoi as well, around 20 degrees! Now I really feel like I'm in a foreign country~~ Haha

Looking forward to my return! but rather sad as well , gonna miss alot of people here. Well anyway, need to finish up my work now, Chao~~

By the way, I recommend this drama from Taiwan, its really very very good ~~ if you have time, I highly recommend you watch it, I have learnt many things about life from this drama. Its called fated to love you , the first few episodes may seem childish and clique but the later episodes are really good. What is good about this drama is that it deals with issues after marriage, and focuses on the love of parenthood, treasuring your partner, and what it means to be a selfless and caring person, especially for your other half. Yea

I went to watch a Vovinam, or Vo Viet Dao competition in Ha Dong, and I must say they are really very skilled in their martial arts. Its very unique and artistic in its own way, a proud product from Vietnam!

Even though there are girls who practice this art, they can be very feminine as well~! at this event, some of the students wore Ao Dai's to represent the various schools, and they looked fantastic.

Anyway, these people are very proud of their art, there was a girl who was giving a speech, and she lost her voice in the beginning and had a small hiccup, but because of that , after her speech, she teared a little, just shows how much her passion means to her. That's part of Vietnamese culture , a passion for their nation and in things unique to Vietnam, their nationalistic identity.

Made some friends along the way, very friendly people whom I can practice my Vietnamese with, including 2 older ladies ( seem very keen to talk to foreigners who can speak a little viet ) and a family who brought their son to come visit the competition, very nice couple whom was willing to help me do one of my music surveys! and of course had a nice little chat with them as well, in VIETNAMESE! haha Yes my vietnamese is improving a little day by day and I'm proud of it! DARE TO SPEAK!

Will upload the video soon when I find time to upload it haha.

The White Dress Silk

I just watched this Vietnamese movie on DVD yesterday, and I really want to recommend it to you all, ya I bought the DVD, upon recommendation from my friends. Really good show that is going to represent Vietnam in the next Oscars. 2 hours and 30 mins long, this movie tells the story of a girl during the war era, who had to run away from home with a guy as there were rioits against the rich people, after having 4 children, they needed to wear Ao Dai's in order to study, but as they were poor, their mother didn't have enough money, and she made many sacrifices to buy an ao dai for her daughter to study.

Cinematography is really good, with slow motion effects and colour plays everywhere, however, there is a down side that I don't fancy, that is its R21 and there's a couple of scenes that exposes the actress, but , just view it from a mature and artistic point of view and it should be ok. However, its just a small scene and apart from that, the rest of the movie is really great, shows how war cannot be condoned , and it plays on the line said at the end of the movie,

Vietnamese women are strong, as long as she has an Ao Dai, she should protect it and sacrifice for it as it is a symbol. Ok this is not the exact meaning because its translated from Vietnamese but think literally and it really has a deep meaning attached to it.

By the way, my DVD had no subtitles, so I was practically watching the whole show in Vietnamese, but it was still enjoyable. Shows how good the movie is.

Operation New Man

Today is a new day!!!

I was talking to Sebrina, and Eliz, and Joshua, and they were all saying that they were waiting for me to get back.

Sebrina also said, that when I come back, she wants to see a change in me. No more the same Daniel again, but a more mature gentlemen, and of course with my 6 pacs.

But recently, I've just been slacking around, with no motivation to do anything. BUT today shall be the day that I change everything, and treasure each passing day. I only have 2 more months left, and I shall name this reminding 2 months, OPERATION NEW MAN.

I shall run every morning at least 1 round, and pray and read the Bible and books for at least 2 hours a day, and of course study for at least 5 hours each day. That is a total of 8 Hrs of activity each day, coupled with a more interactive approach to Vietnam, rather than staying in my "prison" home according to Titus everyday.

Today I only ran 1 round, and I really felt super tired already, although the weather was very nice today, btw its Autumne already, and Huong said that when Autumne comes, the streets blossom with this flower called Hoa Sua, which gives a very nice fragrance , and when you ride your motorbike along the streets in autumne at around this time, its rather romantic~!

Overtime, I have realised one thing, relationships are not just about falling in love, its more than that, and its also about taking into considerations various factors that can lead to a long lasting marriage, such as family, finances, connection, interactions and most important of all, emotional and spiritual understanding. Of course physical compatibility is important as well. So many things, and most important of all is to nurture a heart , especially for guys, of a willingness to take care of the girl, like what Pastor Kong says, to guide, govern, and guard. Amen to that!

The Arrival of Titus

Titus arrived on 29th September to tour Hanoi. It was a very fun experience, did alot of crazy stuff. On the first day, I went to the airport to fetch him, it was a long long 1 and 1/2 hour journey to the airport. I really wonder why the airport is so far away from the city centre. Anyway, bough green been cakes at the airport and headed on the way to downtown Hanoi!

Arrived at my beautiful house, and the first thing I did was introduced him to my dear friend Shi Lei ( in the picture above ) . After that we headed down to downtown, which was Hoan Kiem Lake to eat lunch, looked around quite abit first before deciding on Cha Ga~! , in other words, fried fish, where there's a cooker in front of you and you can cook the fish there, with unlimited rice and spices, sauces and everything, but I think its rather expensive but delicious, at around S$8 per person.

After that, walked around Hoan Kiem for awhile before deciding to head to the supermarket to buy food to cook! so delicious!!! I've been learning to cook recently and actually it is very fun!!! I shall cook for my cell group when I get back~!~! haha

The next day I had lessons from in the afternoon, so I could only take him out in the morning, went to eat Bun Cha for breakfast~! so delicious, but quite oily. Haha, after that proceeded back to the room, where of course, we played street fighter vs X-men, I realised it was in my computer, had alot of fun.

After my lessons I met him and Shi Lei and we went to watch the water puppet theatre, sort of like a theatre show, but the puppets are on water, its really interesting and quite funny~! A must see for anybody who comes to Hanoi, the skill involved is highly regarded in my opinion. They told the stories of Vietnam in the past, farming, playing in the water, fishing, and many other things, even had pirotechnics at some point.

After that, we went to eat Lebanese dinner ( free courtesy of the new hanoian website for members ) , waited quite long but the food was rather good, something I never had before~~ above are the picture of the resturant~!

The next day I had a free day, so in the morning, I brought him to .... ok we didn't really go anywhere in the morning, delayed and delayed until the afternoon, where we went to bowl at starbowl, quite fun, although my scores were super bad, not one game above 100~!, but nonetheless the place had nice techno music, and at some point they offed the main lights and switched n some fancy lights that were flashing on the bowling alley, looked kinda cool.

After that went for dinner at Com Chay, a vegetarian resturant together with Huong, my Vietnamese friend, and a super filling meal and proceeded to the music cafe Msecret, very good live music I must say.

The next day, I had class in the morning and in the afternoon we went shopping to buy some shirts and foodstuff at really good prices, after that had dinner at Hoan Kiem Kangeroo resturant, good food as well! haha, and after that for the first time we walked from Hoan Kiem back to our home at Bach Khoa, took around 45 mins... but it was fun, had a nice chat on the way back.

The next day, we took a cab to the airport to send Titus off, he had an open ticket so he had to wait until the last minute before he could buy a ticket, as pirority was given to normal ticket buyers. But in the end he could board the plane and that's the end of the story of Titus in Hanoi.

I shall update you all on my Vietnam Trip because I realized I have not been doing so.. haha anyway, this is the trip to Lang Son that I went, its a province further up from Hanoi. Took a bus there , around 5hrs journey, but only S$7 ! so cheap.

Attended the funeral of the aunt of a friend , quite a sad experience and really makes you treasure life more... anyway, not to sound gloomy, here are some pictures to tell the story...I didn't really take much pictures in respect but here are some of the pictures I took...

A Month in Vietnam

The end of this week would mark the end of the first month in Vietnam!

Its been exciting so far. Good food, good company, and am looking forward for more adventures!, and of course, improving my Vietnamese.

What I did so far...

Karaoke session and Birthday Celebration!

Went out with Huong and her friends, there were 10 of them in total, haha it was abit of a struggle for me to talk to them, but still it was fun!, Vietnamese are really good singers!, and they actually put the total number of candles with regards to the age on the cake. Don't know if its Vietnamese culture, but it really became a very bright cake, haha. I sang the Vietnamese version of the Hokkien song, Ai ling ai puay or something I cant remember the title haha, and How deep is your love, ya the only 2 songs I know how to sing haha. But its nice to hear the Vietnamese songs , quite nice to hear, the contemporary ones that is, yeah.

And it costs like 90,000 dong per hour per room!, which is cheaper than Singapore. Because if you divide it among 10 people its only like around $1 a person an hour?

English- Speaking Club friends

Made many friends at this english speaking club, a bunch of really fun and talkative people! And this is actually my internship. Introducing...

Ha and her boyfriend Shawn, really funny couple. Love to act and sing. With My beside them, My is a rather nice girl whom I don't know why they like to call her My Bo?

Very sorry but I forgot the names of these 3 people, not very good at names haha, but their part of the fun group in the club as well.

My and Thuy. Thuy is a very funny and talkative girl. When she and My tag team, can really bring the house down haha. Both of them are really brave and confident in speaking. I should learn from them.

O they sort of had a presentation on Love, haha and it was quite a fun discussion, which in the end they did a skit on Romeo and Juliet, the Vietnamese version!, will upload the video soon its super hilarious! More photos

Also visited Thuy's restaurant, and My's house to play cards, this Vietnamese card game, sort of like heart attack, but the first person who gets 4 similar cards can tak the coin and subsequently the other 2 can start snatching the other 2 coins, the one without the coin will have to write an S on his/her arm, until the word stupid is finished. Of course I lost. haha but it was fun.

Thuy kept showing us this magic trick and saying in an accent " This is called Magic! "

Music cafes!!!!

Went to many many music cafes, from Jazz to Flamenco to Pop music! , and the truth is, in Singapore, I never even stepped into one music cafe before! haha

lots of interesting things, like for the flamenco music, they sort of had an audience request, and it was really cool that they could play mostly english songs, will upload the video soon.

And for the pop music cafe, they actually let me go up and sing!, haha unbelievable, was abit nervous but super fun!, and the people are friendly as well. After that I gave a short beatbox performance haha.

Extreme Makeover ( Do a Kerry )

Since I've been to Vietnam, I've started on my weekly jogs at the lake nearby

I took 27 mins to run 2 rounds, so I'm guessing it must be around 5km for 2 rounds

But I really want to motivate all you people out there to follow me! I go for jogs every Monday , Wednesday and Friday, rest on Tuesday, Thursday and the weekends in order to keep myself motivated and well rested, cause last time I used to want to run everyday but got tired of it and gave up after 1 week. Yeah, this is the results of the first 2 weeks of running! Will post 1 photo every week

Vietnamese Songs

Went to KTV yesterday

Haha, its rather cheap , $9 for a room for 1 hour, to be shared among everybody, so if there's 5 ppl, its like 4 hrs for $7+

BUT, there's no Chinese songs! and the English songs is super limited.

However, If I'm in Vietnam, I should immerse myself with Vietnamese songs instead, that's what I think haha, there are some really good Vietnamese songs. Let me introduce you to this singer, Bang Kieu, who I think is like the Cao Ge of Vietnam, check out this super duper high song.

Along with Bang Kieu, the other really popular singer would be My Tam, which I would say is the Sun Yan Zi of Vietnam

This song is Uoc Gi, which also means dream

O btw Vietnamese are really good singers! The people I went to KTV with can really really sing well.

Sorry for the long wait!!

Finally I have decided to blog about being in Vietnam. Its been 3 weeks already! how fast. Ya anyway here is a video of the 1st week in Vietnam!

So far its been great, met alot of friendly people. The language gap is still there, still quite difficult to be understood but slowly getting there. My friend Shi Lei who accompanied me on this trip has been a great help so far. Ya, O the traffic is scary man. I'm still not that used it to. And so far I have witnessed 2 minor accidents. The amazing thing is, for one of the accidents the motorists just got up and went off like nothing happened!

My room is quite homely, its at 25 Ta Quang Buu street, Bach Khoa, Hanoi. Lots of shops everywhere, and ya, met an American , Sam, a South Korean, and many many Vietnamese! Very nice people. And I'll admit the people are generally good looking.

O there's a lake near my house, have not really taken any photos of it yet, but its nice to jog there in the morning, I took 27 mins to go 2 rounds so I'm guessing its around 5k , plan to go there every Monday Wednesday and Friday, to lose weight of course! haha

Hoan Kiem Lake, the area around this lake is sort of like the "Orchard Road" of Hanoi, lots of busy streets, but amazingly, there's alot of foreigners.

and there's a KFC!! it costs $4.60 for a Zinger Meal, quite reasonable.

Also had BBQ chicken from Korea, the same price of $4.60 for a burger meal but the meat is delicious! Better than KFC I have to admit

Also went to alot of resturants in the first few weeks, there's this place called VietArt Cafe, located near an Arts School, the ambience is very very comfortable. Went there with Shi Lei and 2 new friends , Hoang and Tran

Cleaning the toliet

Pizza with Sam, our American friend, the pizza costs around $7 for this size, I ordered Vegetarian, thinking it would taste like the Vegetarian at MissYou Cafe in Singapore, but apparently not haha. The other pizza is rather delicious! haha

This is super nice, its called Bun Nem, or spring rolls, you actually eat it with the dry white noodles! yummy! and cheap! Although I forgot how much it costs. But the Zi Cha Rice costs $1 for egg,meat,vege and rice! so cheap!! haha but I feel quite sad for some of the stalls as I see the young boys trying to get business for the family everyday, hard work, trying to lure customers in. Quite a hard life.

Indian Food with our neighbours! Dr. Vattana and her husband. Ya the age group at my hostel varies. But she used to be a lecturer at NUS, and a very nice person! Eating with lecturers really is a totally different experience from eating with friends, you get alot of interesting information about life and politics and so on.

Praise The Lord PTL

Went to the studio to take photos for my bro's graduation. At the same time, took this passport photo! nice? haha I think its one of the best photos I ever took.

Anyway, I wanna praise God that I managed to get the Temasek Foundation's LeaRN award! its 4k! and I feel really really blessed. Because my cap was like way below the requirement. But God really planned me from army to be a medic, leading to taking SEA Studies, learning Vietnamese, and subsequently, joining Red Cross! because there's alot of Vietnamese there, which I think was one of the big reasons why they gave the award to me! so happy!

Today a miracle happened. I left my handphone in the taxi!!!, but the next passenger was so kind! she left the taxi and found me and returned the phone! I was shocked at first, but I'm really really thankful for her and for God! if not it would be the 2nd time I lose my handphone in 2 months!

Anyway, was browsing my friend's facebook, and found this very encouraging phrase. "A woman must be so lost in God that a man must seek Him in order to find her"

Wow! I mean isn't that like a mega revelation! Subsequently, God told me, when your single, you already spend so little time for personal time with God, if you have a girlfriend, won't your time spent with God be even less???. I finally understand it now. My focus has been wrong. And asking God when when when is he going to bless me with one is just plain distrust in God, because his timing his perfect. And I understand it now. The key is to surrender everything to God, and follow his plan, I finally understand the meaning of seeking him now. Just seek him and everything will flow nicely into place in your life! believe me! Honestly, I think that God wants everybody to get married, but at the same time, He also wants marriage to be holy and a romantic and blessful event for us, not something defined by the world in terms of divourse and pre-marital sex and emotional strain, that is why, we should pray and seek him, and he will provide the best and most suitable partner for you! and we will be blessed even beyond marriage! Believe me. Single or attached, God's plan is always best for us, and by trusting and believing in him, He can use us to do incredible things for him, and have us experience the most meaningful and fruitful life.

Ya, today I bought speakers as well!, wanna praise God again, I went to this shop and got quoted $32, I left walked around, saw another shop selling the same speakers at $50!, then I went back to the other stall and another person was there, and he quoted me $29!.

The speaker is not bad, portable, good sound quality, the only thing is there's no bass as there's no sub-woofer, but still, its altec lansing, and its pretty clear, when I played captivated by True worshippers, it was amazing, and it really felt like a Church atmosphere!, ya, look forward to bringing it to Vietnam to have my mini worship sessions in my room!

Running the race

Service was awe-inspiring today.

We sang this worship song from Hillsongs, its called "Healer" and when I heard it I was so amazed. The presence of God was very strong when it was played. People were prayed for during this time, and it was just overwhelming to be there, seeing so many people in one voice, worshiping God. This song really has a story behind it. Tell's a story of tremendous faith, even when things don't seem to be going where we want it to. Watch this.

2 Tim 4:6-7
"As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death it near, I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful"

Friends, we are able to OVERCOME, and have faith in God's ways, for God's ways are much much bigger than our ways.

This weeks sermon was about running the race for God. Having consistency in the race, and overcoming dryness, falls, and exhaustion.

Just like washing our bodies with Soap to keep it clean, let us have

Scripture for daily nourishment
Observation for the things going on around us and notice how the scripture deals with everything that comes our way.
Application, actions speak louder than words. Let us apply the word in our daily lives.
Prayer for your life - stay connected to God.

There are 5 ways to stay in the race for God and have perseverance .

Here's a story of an Olympic runner, John Stephen Akhwari of Tanzania. Half way through the race, he got injured but he still finished the race, although in last position. When a reporter asked him why, he said, “My country did not send me to Mexico City to start the race. They sent me to finish the race.”

1. Know what fills and what drowns our tank, and make ample decisions that can help us do what is right, and inspire us to greater heights!

2. Find a balance in our lives - don't just concentrate on one area of life, know that God is in our lives and will take care of us. So don't neglect one area of your live in favor of another, family, friends, work, relationships, spiritual life, they are all important, and there should be a balance in all these, centered on God. Instead of for example, just focusing on God and doing nothing about improving yr family life. Know that God will help us and guide us, and go out into all areas and be a blessing and testimony for God!

3. Have a rest day ( sabbath )
We all need rest and should rest to make sure other areas of our lives are good ad stable as well. Psalms 127:2 : "It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat,for God gives rest to his loved ones."

Matt 11:28
"Then Jesus said, " Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest"

Let God take guide you in every area of your life. His timing is perfect and He cares for each and everyone of us and has a great plan for our lives, no problem or burden is too big for him to handle.

4. Let us find a lightning rod.
Prov 11:4
"Riches won't help on the day of judgment, but right living can save you from death."

Let us cling on and receive from God, and He can help us through it all, nothing is impossible for Him.
Philippians 4:13
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

5. Be disciplined in our daily devotions.
Deuteronomy 17:18
"When he sits on the throne as king, he must copy for himself this body of instruction on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests."

Let us learn to strive, and have perseverance for God. So that people can see how God has worked powerfully in our lives.
Psalms 68:19
"Praise the Lord: praise God our savior! For each day he carries us in his arms. "

God cares for us, I cannot emphasize this enough, because it is very very true. Believe me. Have faith friends. And we can run the race with God to the finish, and accomplish the powerful plan he has for our lives.

Great Faith and Joy

Amazing testimony , despite losing her child, she still manages to praise God, because "greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world" she managed to overcome the deeds of the devil, and rejoice in God, in turn, becoming an inspiration for us all, and ya, this is a really impactful testimony. His ways are greater, focus, put your focus on him, and he will heal you, make you whole and bring you to your destiny no matter the circumstances that you may be experiencing now, when all hope looks dim, and troubles mount. Look up, chin up and believe that God is so much bigger than your problem, and he cares for you so much, believe me, that he wouldn't let the problem overwhelm you, but you will come out even stronger than ever before.

Batman : The Dark Knight

The new batman movie : The Dark Knight is a

MUST WATCH!!!

its absolutely brilliant. Christopher Nolan did a superb job in turning Batman into literally, a "Dark Knight". It became more than just a cartoon action flick, it became a psychological thriller with lots of action flick. IT was simply great. Heath Legar, the actor of the joker is just amazing as well. At first I thought his voice was 2 high, and I didn't really like it but as the movie progressed you could see the development of his character, just keep getting more and more intriguing.

One thing I didn't like was Batman's voice though, I think it was 2 forced and deep, like he was trying to hard to be scary. Ya. Other than that, its absolutely brilliant. The motorcycle stuns were the bomb I tell you, and deep behind all the action, there are some themes that you would think about even after the movie. Such as corruption, and the nature of humankind, are we , like in the "lord of the flies" novel, inherently evil?. I wouldn't think so because I'm a Christian. And I really got this revelation from the show that, man are imperfect. But God is perfect, and there's one seen that really resembles what God would do in a situation. Which is sacrifice, sacrifice for us. The scene came totally unexpected but it left a deep impression on me. That ought to be like God, selfless, with humility, and of course, the "silent hero" in our lives who has been helping us and guiding us along the way, but is not that often recognized by people, and was even rejected when Jesus died on the cross , but through it all, he still believes and cares for us no matter what we think or do.

Yoz peepz

Just wanna share, thanks for all the encouragement on my previous posts. Appretiate it. Just spurs me on to do even more for God, so that the world can know of his glory!, one friend of mine even commented how come I sounded so much more optimistic in my blogging than in person. Hmmm. Haha. God, make me as optimistic in person as in my blogging!

Its been 3 weeks since i've been in this new cell group after multiplication. Presenting the W133 gang in our first ever group photo!

Honestly, I just want to say, I feel so blessed. I really feel very very blessed to be in this cell group. The people are so friendly and caring. And you know I can just instantly connect with them. Praise God. There are lots lots of cool and inspiring people as well!, we have a new cell group leader Ruth who will be supervised by Wan Ee, and both of them are just excellent! and always ready to sacrifice time for God to inspire us and give us encouragement and life lessons that we can take and hold for the glory of God. My 3 mentors on a personal level are also with me, who have really helped me alot alot in the past and still doing so, always being selfless and taking time to share and care for me, being Sandra, Michael and Andy. Then there's the new bunch of cool people who are always so happy and smiling that its infatuating( i dunno a good word for the good meaning of contagious ), there's the thoughtful and mature Elizabeth, there's the ever kind and chirpy Fionette, there's motivated and success in the making Ching Ghee, and the enthusiastic and friendly Genevieve. Not to mention my other cell group members who have helped me in one way or another in the past and has been a great presence to be with in fellowship and in praise!, Cheryl, Joshua, Napalie, Alex, Cindy, Yvonne, Sylas ( Sorry if i spelt wrongly ) and of course my long-time friend and the one who brought me to City Harvest.........SEBRINA GOH!!!!

Yeah, I really feel so blessed to have found a suitable cell group. Its kinda sad that I won't really see you guys for 4 months as I embark on my journey in Vietnam, but i'm think of you all! and I know that I know that I know that this trip will not be a wasted one and that i'll come back even stronger and more on fire for God, and with a large step towards my vision that God has planted for me in Vietnam!

Ya, I want to say a big thanks for being a part of my life.
